Who we are
Whendo is a service of CM Ventures Group LLC ("we", "us"), 124 Allen Circle, Cadiz, Kentucky 42211. We answer missed calls on behalf of participating local businesses ("clients") by sending a text message to the caller and relaying the conversation to the business. Questions about this policy go to [email protected].
What we collect
- Phone numbers of people who call a participating business and of the business's staff who receive the conversation.
- The content of text messages exchanged through the service.
- Call metadata: the time of the call, the number called, the number calling, and whether the call was answered.
- Business contact details for our clients: legal name, address, owner contact, and billing information.
We do not collect location, contacts, or any information from a caller's device beyond the phone number and the messages they send.
Why we collect it
To respond on behalf of the business you called, to deliver your messages to that business and its replies to you, to honor opt-out requests, to report to the business on the calls and conversations we handled for it, and to operate and secure the service.
Text messaging and your consent
We only send a first message to a phone number that has placed a call to a participating business. By calling that business, you agree to receive a text response from it through Whendo. By replying, you agree to continue the conversation. Message frequency varies by conversation and is typically a small number of messages per missed call. Message and data rates may apply.
You can stop at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation and no further messages from that business through Whendo unless you text START. Reply HELP for help, or email [email protected].
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Who we share it with
- The participating business whose line you called. The conversation is theirs to act on.
- Service providers we use to run the service, under contract and only for that purpose: Twilio (telephony and messaging), Supabase (database hosting), and Anthropic (drafting the single clarifying question in a conversation). None of them may use your information for their own purposes.
- Authorities, when required by law.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
How long we keep it
Conversation content and call records are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Opt-out records are kept indefinitely so that your opt-out continues to be honored. Client business records are kept for the life of the client relationship and as required for tax and accounting.
Your choices
Reply STOP to end messaging. Email [email protected] to ask what we hold about your number or to request deletion; we will respond within 30 days. Deleting your data does not delete the opt-out record that protects you from further messages.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our providers. Access is limited to the people who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected people and businesses of a breach as the law requires.
Cookies and website
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider may log standard request data (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security.
Children
The service is for businesses and the adults who call them. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
